With a Leo Solar Eclipse on 12th August followed by a Pisces Lunar Eclipse on 28th August – Eclipse season is upon us.
The Leo solar eclipse invites us to step into a vibrant, confident, new chapter, while the Pisces lunar eclipse offers a spiritually awakening, healing, closure of an old emotional cycle.
A sacred pause where we are being guided to understand, heal and release past experiences, then bring this wisdom with us into a new chapter.
Whether this unfolds as a quiet realisation from within, an inner shift, or as a visible, significant, life event & outer shift – either way change is here. One chapter is concluding so a brand new one can begin.
A Celestial Bridge between What was & What’s next
Eclipses typically take place in pairs, one solar eclipse (at the new moon) and one lunar eclipse (at the full moon) occurring roughly two weeks apart. The two-week time span between eclipses is known as “eclipse season”. An in-between space bridging past and future. Between what was – and – what’s next.
Shadow & Illumination
Eclipse season is a time of shadow and illumination. When the nature of events is designed to align us with our destined path. A time when divine forces gently nudge or jolt us towards our soul’s plan & purpose for this lifetime.
Eclipses bring about the darkness within which something is brewing behind the veil between this physical world & the spiritual world. And whatever is concealed – what we can’t yet fully see or understand – will at the right moment surface into the light. What was once hidden becomes illuminated and revealed, ultimately adjusting how we see life and our path forwards.
Eclipse events don’t necessarily happen on the exact day, they can happen up to a month before or after. The eclipse degree also remains sensitive, and indicates an area of life undergoing a transformation for up to 6 months for a lunar eclipse, and 2 – 3 years for a solar eclipse.

When eclipses announce a notable life event for us personally – when there is a clear life before, and life after moment – the eclipse degrees will touch & activate planets or angles in our natal chart. The specific planets or angles illustrate what is being activated. While the house placement – even if the house is empty – reveals the area of life being influenced.
- If an eclipse degree directly aspects a natal planet or angle (ascendant, midheaven etc), expect external events & visible shifts in life.
- If an eclipse falls in an empty house, expect a quieter inner shift in that area of life.
Which all adds up to describe how eclipse season brings about a time when unexpected events or sudden realisations can emerge that interrupt the everyday flow of our daily life. Happenings & discoveries of a nature that insert unpredictability into our established routines. Because eclipses are a catalyst designed to shake up our familiar, daily rituals – especially the ones we habitually repeat on autopilot – in a way that casts a veil over the future and can lead to us feeling uncertain about what the final outcome may be.
Be prepared for the unexpected and make time to rest & reflect
Being mindful during eclipse season of the celestial picture helps us be aware of, and prepared for, the possibility of curveballs occurring. As eclipses bring fated change that is out of our hands. It is a time when the veil between the material and spiritual realm thins, and the divine steps in to reorganise our lives. A re-alignment that shakes up our life circumstances to unite us with our soul’s plan & path.
It’s best to observe and flow with the energy, as well as be prepared to be flexible if necessary. And to postpone any major decisions until afterwards, as eclipses are times when things are hidden in the shadows and we can’t – as yet – quite see the full picture.
Importantly, as these deep shifts unfold go easy on yourself and others. As processing inner awakenings and outer changes can be exhausting, meaning making time to pause, rest, and reflect is very beneficial. Eclipses invite us to sit in the stillness & meditate. Which makes space to adapt to the changes taking place in & around us. And make sense of new ways of looking at life – so as to fully absorb them into our point of view & way of thinking.
