Astrology is awe-inspiring. Reveals the invisible, what could potentially emerge to become visible and manifest in the world. At this point in time there’s no denying life can be a little confusing, and consequently the map in the sky is invaluable. Lends us a helping hand to make sense of the present, and contemplate the future.
Every day I am grateful for the guidance of the sky, and I truly hope this brief overview of 2026 is helpful to you, and assists navigating the days ahead.
The shift from reflective to active
Earth & Water to Fire & Air
2026 is a very significant year astrologically, it’s a year of new beginnings – ignited by inspired ideas and fast-paced action.
By April all the outer planets will have permanently shifted into new zodiac signs, from receptive, nurturing, earth and water signs into assertive, outward-focused, fire and air signs.
We are moving from the reflective, inner-focused, emotional energy of the Grand Water Trines, and intense Mercury retrograde at the end of 2025, into a time of fire and air energy – and more decisive, outer action. If life has recently felt heavy-going, and a bit like wading through thick, boggy mud – the mud will dry up. We will find solid ground and gain momentum!
The headline event of 2026 being Saturn conjunct Neptune in fire sign Aries on 20th February, which brings to a close the Saturn-Neptune cycle that began in 1989 – and the launch of a brand new cycle. The foundations of life are being restructured and we are at – The threshold of a new era and reality.
Saturn, Neptune & The North Node in Pisces
Neptune has been in Pisces since 2011, Saturn since 2023, and the North Node of the Moon since January 2025 – encouraging a heightened awareness of unseen realities, the spiritual world, and desire for deeper spiritual connection.
A time of exploration in the sea of the oneness of all, and the veiled depths of the unconscious. An impulse to merge with, and surrender to, the vast oceanic waters of Pisces where the boundary between the ego and source dissolves; inviting us to plunge inwards for deep soul-searching, mystical musings, and immersing our imagination in the dreamscape to discover enticing dreams and possibilities for the future.
Spiritual Insights & Mystical Fog
A period which has invited profound spiritual insights, a deepening of spiritual practices and faith, enhanced empathy, idealistic visions, and artistic ideas.
Enrichment of spiritual wisdom and faith developed by navigating karmic endings, as old dreams, beliefs and structures dissolve – “the dark night of the soul”. A surrender to the flow that unfolds into experiences of deep spiritual insight, as illumination emerges out of emotional suffering becoming grounded into spiritual understanding.
However, alongside there has also been a blurring of reality, a touch of mystical fog, which has simultaneously influenced and nurtured a connection with the divine but also brought a lack of clarity between facts and fantasy.
In the Age of Disinformation – fake news, false narratives, AI – generated media, AI- powered misinformation to purposefully deceive – there is a difficulty discerning between truth and illusion. A blurring of the collective and individual mindset, that clouds perceptions about defining core truths, beliefs and what actually is “reality”.
A haze of uncertainty, feelings of being deeply connected to the universe and a higher purpose, but unanchored in life. A puzzlement about the plan ahead, doubts and fears, as there is no clear destination in sight. An awareness of being in a state of transition, as the old is ending and the new era is at the threshold – but not fully visible. Existing in an in-between space, one foot in, one foot out of two different realms.
A Balancing Act ~ The push – pull between fantasy and reality
As a result of floating in the waters of Pisces – where the imagination is stirred and fantasy flows – with Neptune and Saturn accompanying us, set in motion was a yearning to both escape from reality (Neptune) and manifest/ground in reality (Saturn).
A desire to retreat from the disillusionment, and exhaustion of dealing with reality through escapism – drifting into daydreams/fantasy lands, wasting time on social media/illusions, online addiction/screen dependency, hours of excessive sleep or numbing the pain with addictions.
Also opened was encouragement to take responsibility for our spiritual well-being. For spiritual endeavours, a pull to develop a disciplined routine of study/meditation/ritual/yoga to increase spiritual knowledge, enhance healing, and build inner strength. To connect the spiritual with the material, the soul with the body, to feel grounded, rather than overwhelmed, dreamy and disconnected. The conscious creation of an internal anchor using core beliefs to root reality.
For the creatively inclined, inspiration and motivation to manifest mystical visions. To channel dreams and imaginative ideas into enchanting, heartfelt creations. Art, music and words that are soul-stirring, that merge emotional or spiritual meaning (Neptune) into something real and enduring (Saturn).
From dreaming to doing
Which helps define how we (personally & collectively) are moving from confusion, disillusionment, and visions of change – Saturn and Neptune in Pisces – to confronting the fog and doing, with the Saturn-Neptune conjunction in Aries revealing the cosmos is urging us to take action! Signalling the time has come for us to have faith in our spiritual insight, our ideals, and find the motivation (Aries), and discipline (Saturn) to structure the spiritual flow (Neptune) in reality.
Minor Grand Trine
The outer planets – Uranus, Neptune and Pluto – are all in a rare, potent, harmonious alignment, a Minor Grand Trine (2024 -2028). Neptune is the apex planet of this magical, transformational triangle, and so Saturn plugs into, and activates it (2025/26).
The magnificent French astrologer Andre Barbault in Planetary Cycles Mundane Astrology says about the Saturn-Neptune conjunction:
“The next conjunction in 2026 is centrally placed at the beginning of Aries and is in a triangular quartet of planets with a double sextile to a trine between Uranus in Gemini and Pluto in Aquarius.
It is the most benefic configuration of the century and its interplanetary partnership will work best in a splendid relaunch of civilisation. It contains a harmonious relationship between primordial opposites; the coming together of the external and the internal, rational and spiritual, mind and soul … human beings surpassing themselves while experiencing life on a higher level.”
A gradual transformation
Definitely uplifting! And blissful to imagine and ponder, but may sound a little elusive – too good to be true – at this moment in time when the world, and life, feel so heavy. The Saturn-Neptune conjunction means old structures and ways are being dissolved (Neptune) and the rebuilding (Saturn) commencing – which will take time (Saturn).
The Minor Grand Trine is a potent, magical catalyst, but not an instant fix. The magical triangle is providing long term cosmic support – through until 2028 – and a massive shift in the background energy. Which helps us to discover the right path forwards, and empower our long-term plans – a magical spark of initiative, that we have to co-create with by applying effort and intentional action.
We may feel powerless, but working consciously, and ethically, with the energy is mighty powerful. Just by putting out positive thoughts, and being optimistic about the beneficial changes for humanity ahead, makes a difference.
Jupiter & The Nodes ~ Fire & Air
Also! 2026 has Jupiter moving from water sign Cancer – into fire sign Leo, and the karmic Lunar Nodes of the Moon shifting from the Pisces(water)/Virgo(earth) axis – to the Aquarius(air)/Leo(fire) axis.
Saturn conjunct Neptune ~ 20th February
Saturn and Neptune meet roughly every 36 years to start a new cycle, but meeting at 0° Aries – the very first degree of the entire zodiac is huge. The start of a new era and reality that is inspired, and supported by the powerful Minor Grand Trine.
Spiritual Neptune and Earthly Saturn form a bridge between the divine and reality, between the visible and the invisible – and the veil between the unseen and the seen is lifting.
Spirituality, vision, ideals and illusions (Neptune) meets earthly reality, structure and discipline (Saturn) in Aries, the sign of initiative and personal identity. As the first sign of the zodiac, Aries is the warrior, the leader, and encourages us to do heroic deeds, and be the hero of our own story.
A moment when we are being asked to structure and build our future guided by our soul’s highest purpose, with awareness that our actions can help others, not only ourselves. And whilst we can keep our head in the clouds (Neptune) we need to keep our feet (Saturn) on the ground. As our dream has to be authentically aligned with our beliefs and achievable, not an illusion or built on false promises.
It requires taking the initiative, some sweat and dedication – to do and become – what makes us feel truly passionate, vibrant and alive. And not solely for ourselves, but in a way that helps and inspires others, and plants seeds that will flourish for future generations.
“All the flowers of all the tomorrows are in the seeds of today” (An Indian proverb)
Uranus enters Gemini ~ 26th April
The planet of innovation and revolution moves into the air sign of communication. Bringing a massive shake up in how we share information, learn, and connect. In Gemini, Uranus electrifies how we think and use technology, expect some flashes of inspiration and novel concepts!
Jupiter enters Leo ~ 30th June
The planet of wisdom and good fortune moves into the fire sign of bold, theatrical, self-expression. Placing the spotlight on creativity, self-confidence, romance, fun and joy, and being authentically ourselves and following our passions.
And rewards, for having the courage to follow our hearts, our calling, and put ourselves in the spotlight, not to be the centre of attention or for the applause, but to illuminate our truth. To lead with our heart, not ego.
The Nodes change signs into Aquarius/Leo ~ 26th July
The North Node points to the direction to develop, and the South Node tendencies to leave behind.

The Nodes change into airy Aquarius (North Node) and fiery Leo (South Node) – marking a shift in our collective consciousness from focusing on the inner spiritual, emotional and artistic energy of the North Node in Pisces towards the community, humanitarian, technology and future orientated energy of Aquarius. A move which urges us to use the spiritual insights and creative visions of the North Node in Pisces, and actually put them into action in the real world, with the aim of building a better future for all.
A seeding moment
The Aquarius Solar Eclipse on 17th February before the Nodes change signs is a seeding moment that prepares us for the shift in energy, or perhaps launches us into it! – as the eclipse is square ruler of Aquarius, Uranus. We can expect an acceleration in the pace of life. Swift changes that emphasise what is ending, and surprises that reveal new opportunities, uniting to shake up the energy and stimulate a transition from inner reflection to outer action.
Everyone is unique, equal and interconnected
The Nodes shifting signs bring into focus the community and equality (Aquarius) and how we can use our unique passions and gifts (Leo) to help each other, for social change that benefits everyone. With the South Node in Leo (leadership/self-expression/ego) it’s about being centre stage with purpose, not for individual desires or personal gain but for the greater good.
Aquarius (We/the group)- Leo (I/the individual) brings an emphasis to being independent with integrity, having consciousness of a vaster perspective and recognising there is something bigger than the unique individual. That the individual is one part of a multitude of individuals, who are all equal and interconnected.
Encourages building authentic connections, opening up to recognising the specialness of others, relating to others as individuals, taking an interest in others views/ideas, and encouraging/supporting the unique creativity of others.
It’s finding a balance between the vision of Aquarius for innovative, unconventional ideas, for social change that benefits everyone, and the passion, creative fire and individual contribution of Leo, to build a bridge between the present and the future.
Eclipse Season
We have 2 eclipses seasons this year – (17th Feb – 3rd March) & (12th – 28th August)
During eclipse season we know to be prepared for curveballs, as eclipses can bring fated change that is out of our hands. A time when the veil between the material and spiritual realm thins, allowing the divine to reorganise our lives. A spiritual re-alignment that shakes up our material bonds/circumstances to align us with our soul’s path.
It’s best to observe and flow with the energy, as well as be prepared to be flexible if necessary. And to postpone any major decisions until afterwards, as eclipses are times when things are hidden in the shadow, and we can’t see the full picture.
Eclipse Dates
Solar Eclipse (Annual) ~ 17th February – 28° 56 Aquarius ~ Lunar Eclipse (Total) ~ 3rd March – 12° 51 Virgo
Solar Eclipse (Total) ~ 12th August – 20° 08 Leo ~ Lunar Eclipse (Partial) ~ 28th August – 4° 51 Pisces
The 2 solar eclipses transition us into the new energy of the Leo-Aquarius axis, and the 2 lunar eclipses tie up/finish the lessons of the Virgo-Pisces axis.
The Solar Eclipses in Leo-Aquarius are new beginnings that focus on the tension between, and need to find a compromise/balance between the “Self” and the “Collective” – between our unique identity and how we fit into the group. The Lunar Eclipses in Virgo-Pisces are the closing cycle, the fruition/release of all we have been learning about the tension between, and need to find a compromise/balance between “Reality” and “Spiritual Inspiration” – between our physical needs and our spiritual needs, our soul. Everything is seeking equilibrium,
The Aquarius solar eclipse is a new beginning around friendship, community, social responsibility, long-term vision, innovation and technology. Aquarius energy is logical, experimental and emotionally detached/independent. This eclipse breathes life into the future, and helps us question our friendships, role in society and our aspirations/goals in life.
Ignites our vision of the future and opens up opportunities to find our individual path. Encourages an enhancement to our inner emotional security that leads us to feeling more sure of ourselves/free-spirited. To stop fearing the unknown, a sense of excitement about trying new things, a new way of thinking that feels liberating. To consider how we relate to our friends and join in with our social connections, and the value of them – that we don’t have to walk our path alone. The benefits of unity and community spirit, a functional, fair exchange of energy where everyone gets a helping hand – support, shared goals, sharing resources, mentoring.
Themes ~ Friendships, community, social connection/networking, equality, social responsibility, humanitarianism, social/collective improvements, freedom, independence, individualism/true-to-self, unconventionality, long-term vision, innovation, technology
The Virgo lunar eclipse reveals how taking care of earthly practicalities – work and health – may have gotten unbalanced. And it may well be something we are already sort of aware of. The Virgo-Pisces axis is about order v’s chaos, duty v’s surrender – looking after our physical/mental well-being as well as our spiritual well-being. Our soul and our mind/body. Grounding spiritual ideals and dreams, whilst taking care of daily realities. Pisces provides the intuition and vision, Virgo provides the logic and structure. Pisces flows, Virgo is meticulous about details.
This eclipse will illuminate any physical, mental or emotional disarray/clutter that is inhibiting our spiritual growth. Will bring out into the open where we may be overthinking, too self-critical, anxious, hung up on details/perfectionist, neglected our health or ignored our physical/emotional needs. It will help us discover compassionate (Pisces) ways to refine and reorganise our daily routines. Invites letting go of perfectionism, specific jobs/roles that are unsustainable as they don’t align with our ideals, along with a focus on making beneficial improvements to our diet, exercise regime/sleep schedule and to take notice of any health issues.
Themes ~ mental clarity, inner narratives, frame of mind, organisation, sacred order, routines, conscientious/principled work, health, intentional living
The Leo solar eclipse is a new beginning around our self- expression, creativity, romantic life, children, how we have fun and enjoy ourselves. Illuminates our identity, being “the star of the show” but to remember that a star needs an audience (Aquarius). Helps us question old ways of behaving and expressing our identity – where we may have lacked confidence/leadership ability or have let our ego take over, been self-absorbed/overly dramatic. Will encourage us to seek/discover new ways of self-expression that are more self-confident, authentic, and to handle our relationships with others in more genuine and heart-centred ways.
Themes ~ creative power, confidence, visibility, heart-centred leadership, romance, children, family, passionate truth, emotional courage, speaking from the heart
The Pisces lunar eclipse will likely bring intense emotions to the surface to be released and healed. A Lunar Eclipse is a supercharged Full Moon, a time of fruition, when issues, needs, desires or endeavours – reach a climax – and are brought to a conclusion or worked through. Our inner world, emotions & fears that we usually conceal can rise to the surface. In the oceanic, emotionally sensitive, depths of Pisces emotions can be vast and uncontrollable. As the last sign of the zodiac we have reached the end of a chapter/cycle with endings and closure strong themes – deeply felt, soul-stirring, karmic transformation. Potentially painful, tearful, vulnerable but necessary endings that make way for new beginnings.
This eclipse will also reveal any shadows around escapism, lack of boundaries, confusion/indecisiveness, self-sacrifice or martyrdom. In Pisces we have been strengthening our faith in the unseen, trust in our intuition, and clarifying our ideals and visions/dreams for the future. But we may have drifted into evading reality, embraced illusions as being reality, surrendered taking control of life/feel without direction or purpose, and prioritised caring for/pleasing/forgiving others at our own detriment.
We will be nudged/pushed to make corrections/upgrades to our Pisces side of the Virgo-Pisces axis. By mindful (Virgo) surrender to the flow – being ritualistic (Virgo) with our spiritual practices, focusing (Virgo) on our inner realm and consciously (Virgo) checking our inner guidance – then having faith in our spiritual insights, divine timing, and letting go of the need to control outcomes. Transcending illusions to face the realities (Virgo) of situations/people. Gaining clarity (Virgo) on why certain situations/relationships are in our life. Karmic understanding (Virgo) that releases emotional/past life baggage and brings closure. To apply order, planning, and dedication (Virgo) to our dreams and sacred visions.
Just prior to the eclipse, the Sun is conjunct Mercury – Mercury Cazimi – bringing us a renewed and clarified perspective. Helping to illuminate, bring new insight and straighten out issues that have been looming and building up in the background. Possibly bring a revelation, breakthrough or closure to an issue.
Themes ~ emotional release, emotional healing, symbolic dreams, spiritual insight, inner knowing, setting boundaries, sacred order, karmic understanding, endings, closure
Venus Retrograde ~ 3rd October – 14th November
Venus enters pre-shadow retrograde period – 31st August ~ Venus leaves post-shadow retrograde period – 15th December
Note! – Venus Retrograde overlaps with Mercury Retrograde in Scorpio (24th Oct – 13th November)
Venus is what we love, value, find beautiful and pleasurable -what we want and desire! Of course with Venus being the goddess of love, this encompasses our relationships – what we wish to receive from them and how we behave within them – along with what we find aesthetically and materially satisfying.
Venus retrograde is a time to reflect on our values, pleasures, finances, love life, other close relationships and business partnerships.
Venus retrograde begins in Scorpio, where Venus is in detriment and ends in her home sign of Libra.
The intense, passionate, emotional depths of Scorpio exposes what is in the shadows, and demands the raw, unfiltered, sometimes painful truth. In Libra, the sign of relationship, partnership, harmony, fairness, and justice, Venus’s energy flows powerfully, and explains why Venus may find her time in Scorpio a little messy, as ideally she prefers elegance and graciousness.
In Scorpio Venus will help us to get to the bottom of something important, to reveal a necessary truth. Inevitably then creating pressure to eliminate or transform something. In Libra we re- evaluate who/what we love and value (and why we do), what is un-balanced or unfair in our relationships, or unbalanced in ourselves. Then re-balance and re-structure with fairness, integrity and diplomacy.
Themes – relationships, trust, intimacy, secrets, betrayals, shared debts, subconscious emotional patterns, inheritances, legacies, how our values align/are unaligned with others, how others experience us, what is fair/justified/harmonious
Double retrograde energy! ~ Mercury & Venus
What legacies do we wish to create?
Mercury and Venus being retrograde simultaneously intensifies the experience of re-view and re-evaluation. When Venus stations direct in Libra, Mercury – mind – is still in Scorpio.
The merging of both energies contributes to a capability for deeper, inner contemplation – a soul deep appraisal of values and beliefs – orientated towards self-improvement.
In Scorpio we get to the roots, enter the underworld, and are in touch with our ancestors – and inheritances, legacies. We are also ancestors – the version of us that will be remembered by the people and places we touch during our life. What outlives the material and leaves a footprint. And perhaps a significant moment to consider – what legacies do we wish to create?
Even if we don’t think we’re influential, our energy and vibe shapes the atmosphere around us. Our energy and presence matters. Our actions can change and evolve others, in our close and family relationships. Small acts of kindness towards a stranger can ripple outwards and alter their path in ways we cannot see.
Our current choices are the history of the future, and will shape the ways and traditions of the future, in our personal/family lives and collectively. How do we wish to love, live, and make a meaningful difference, in the as yet unwritten chapters of our story ahead?
Potential challenges
The old is ending, and there is certainly some potential that we will face some chaos, disruption, protests, and even conflict. Collectively the global community feels a sense of disenchantment with how things stand in the world. Uncertainty, and an atmosphere of depression about the future has watered down motivation and optimism. An awareness of discontent when ideals and dreams (Neptune) meet the hard facts of daily reality (Saturn).
Collectively we are shifting from exploring and merging with the oneness of all in the cosmic ocean of Pisces, to go on a journey of self-discovery in Aries. A process of dissolving the old “self” to become a more authentic version of ourselves.
In Pisces “we” are one and the individual ego surrendered, in Aries we are determining who am “I” now. From floating in unity and compassionate forgiveness – to individuality and personal accountability.
The mystical fog is clearing, and the flow of spiritual wisdom from Pisces into our personal identity, our ideals, truths and beliefs – our soul’s highest purpose – is sparking our inner fire. To be authentic and self-empowered.
In Aries the key themes are – Identity, Leadership and Pioneering/Building New Structures.
At this time exactly how the planetary influences of Saturn-Neptune in Aries will unfold is unknown, but looking back in time monumental change unfolded almost overnight at the last Saturn-Neptune conjunction in 1989.
The Fall of the Berlin Wall ~ Saturn-Neptune 1989
The last Saturn-Neptune conjunction in Capricorn, was exact 3 times in 1989, with the final conjunction being on 13th November. On 9th November 1989 The Berlin Wall fell.
Capricorn rules governments, institutions, Saturn rules reality, barriers and walls, and Neptune dissolves. The Berlin wall falling was a literal manifestation of the energy, as the wall fell and the collective dream of freedom (Neptune) became reality (Saturn).
Resulting in the collapse of the Soviet Union – bringing an end to the Cold War – and the collapse of communist regimes across Eastern Europe.
While the Berlin Wall fell rapidly, followed quickly by the collapse of the Soviet Union and the end of the Cold War – with German Reunification taking place 11 months later, and The Soviet Union dissolved 25 months after the fall of the wall, the full economic recovery took over 10 years.
Saturn-Neptune in Aries ~ Identity, Leadership and Beliefs/Ideals
The Saturn-Neptune Conjunction in Aries suggests potential for a similarly rapid start, followed by a longer process of defining, structuring, and building a new reality.
In Capricorn governments and boundaries were dissolved.
In Aries being exposed and dissolved will be outdated, false or misleading:
- Identities/Personas/Public Image/Personal Brands
- Leaders/Authority Structures
- Beliefs/Ideals/Ideologies
The assertive energy of Aries could certainly encourage aggressive and warlike behaviour and actions.
Aries is ruled by Mars – The God of War – and combined with Saturn (reality) and Neptune (spiritual ideals and delusions/deception) suggests out of date or inauthentic – ideals, beliefs, false narratives, authority structures/organisations – will be challenged. And that what is confronted as being unrealistic/unworkable, invalid/misleading or dishonest/unprincipled will need to be proved to be genuine or be dismantled.
Leading to the rise of spiritual/visionary Warriors who take action based on ideals for social change and to defend human rights. In combination with the exposure and fall of outdated/misleading Leaders who take action based on false personal images (the “hero” shown to be not so heroic), distorted beliefs, incompetence, or to deceive.
The connection between technology and the advance of AI – with fake news, online illusions, AI manipulation and fake identities – and our perception of reality is definitely where some of the conflict/battle will likely take place.
Where power lies is shifting, and ultimately it’s about individuals recognising and taking back their own power, being self-governing, and their own leader (Aries) instead of looking to outside sources of authority.
Stay positive, have faith and be the change!
Whilst all the heavy world events might feel overwhelming, and change be intimidating, the universe and spirit world are supporting and guiding us. The cosmic energies – with Saturn-Neptune in Aries and the Magical Triangle – are aligned to give us faith in our intuition, courage to act authentically, to embrace our talents, and find supportive connections and community.
The old ways are dissolving and making way for an upgraded, more compassionate way of life and state of affairs in the world. We are part of the change, creating and building what comes next, the life we wish to live and the world we want to live in.
Find your group, your tribe, step into your power and believe in all you have to offer and the potential to achieve.
Connecting with like minded people, who share our spiritual ideals, to structure, and build something purposeful in a compassionate and supportive space, offers opportunity to merge ideas, talents and shared responsibility to handle problems.
