Venus is retrograde in Scorpio & Libra from the 3rd October (8° 30 Scorpio) until 14th November 2026 (22° 52 Libra).
Venus entered the pre-shadow retrograde period on 31st August at 22°52 Libra and will leave the post-shadow retrograde period on 15th December at 8° 30 Scorpio.
During the pre-shadow period, from now until the 3rd October hints around the relationship, financial & aesthetic themes that will be under review will be coming up in our thoughts, conversations, or day to day life.
It’s a good idea to tune into and just observe these hints, as it is not the best time to make any immediate decisions or take any decisive action!
Venus Retrograde in 2018
Venus retrogrades in the same signs every 8 years, and was last retrograde in Scorpio & Libra 5th October – 16th November 2018. Meaning that echoes of events from then can also resurface now.
Looking back to 2018 and what happened then, as well as reflecting on how our relationships, values and sense of self- worth have changed since then is beneficial. As this retrograde is a follow up, the next chapter in this story, and builds on the same or similar lessons.
Venus is what we love, value, find beautiful and pleasurable -what we want and desire! Venus retrograde begins in Scorpio, where Venus is in detriment and ends in her home sign of Libra.
The intense, passionate, emotional depths of Scorpio exposes what is in the shadows, and demands the raw, unfiltered, sometimes painful truth. In Libra, the sign of relationship, partnership, harmony, fairness, and justice, Venus’s energy flows powerfully, and explains why Venus may find her time in Scorpio a little messy, as ideally she prefers elegance and graciousness.
In Scorpio Venus will help us to get to the bottom of something important, to reveal a necessary truth. Inevitably then creating pressure to eliminate or transform something. In Libra Venus helps us to re- evaluate who & what we love & value (and why we do). What is unfair in our relationships, or out of balance in ourselves. Then to re-structure with fairness, integrity and diplomacy.
Essentially what is revealed in Scorpio will be re-negotiated in Libra.

Also take note! That there will be double retrograde energy! ~ As Venus Retrograde will overlap with Mercury Retrograde in Scorpio (24th October – 13th November).
